Kaizen DIY Gym Tour - January 2024

Hey everyone, I’m Kyle, and welcome to the Kaizen DIY Gym! In today’s post, I’ll take you on a tour of my updated gym setup. A lot has changed since my last gym tour, including moving multiple times (yes, I even had a flood in my old house right after I moved most of my equipment out). But, life goes on, and I’m thrilled with how my new gym is coming together.

I’ve linked all of the equipment featured in this post below, and purchasing through any of my affiliate links helps support the channel—thank you for your support!

Let’s dive in!

My New Gym Space

My gym is in the basement now. Moving everything down here was exhausting, but with the temps outside in the 1–10°F range, I’m incredibly grateful for a climate-controlled space. Let me show you what I’ve set up!

Equipment Featured:

  1. GMWD Incline Pec Fly Machine
I got this machine for free and reviewed it, but I’ve had trouble selling it. Despite being a bit of a space hog, I’ve been enjoying it, especially when paired with the Tribus Grips to prevent my knuckles from hitting at the top of the movement.
    Shop the GMWD Pec Fly

  2. FrankenStorage Setup
I built this makeshift storage using Wall Control for the top, a Rogue Band Peg Holder, and DIY weight storage at the bottom. It’s a quick and functional solution.

  3. Bells of Steel Hydra Rack (72”)
This is my Bells of Steel Hydra Rack that I’ve featured before. It fits perfectly in my space under the ductwork. It’s sturdy and functional, just as I needed.

  4. Massenomics Drink Spotter Lite
This piece is something I use daily—it’s a must-have for any home gym. The design has been updated for greater compatibility with different racks.

  5. Bells of Steel Bumper Plates & Blue Cerakote Utility Bar
For standard training, I use Bells of Steel Bumper Plates and the Bells of Steel Blue Cerakote Utility Bar. These provide solid durability and performance for any lifting routine.

  6. DIY Change Plate Holders
I built these holders with inspiration from Nice Like Mike, using leftover scrap wood. They’re super convenient and keep my plates organized.

  7. GMWD Seal Row Bench
Another free piece I got! The GMWD Seal Row Bench is a one-trick pony, but it does the job well. I pair it with my Abmat Quarter Rings and Abmat Chest Up Pad for extra comfort during rows.

  8. Bells of Steel Plate Loaded Pulley Tower
This is my Bells of Steel Plate Loaded Pulley Tower, which I use primarily for lateral raises.

  9. Fringe Sport Mammoth Belt Squat
I helped design this Fringe Sport Mammoth Belt Squat, which has been fantastic for lower body training. The kickstand is in production and will be available soon.

  10. Dialed Motion Pulley System
I’ve been using this system with my Rep AB4100 Bench, and the design is top-notch. It’s smooth, high-quality, and easy to set up.
