PRx Profile Halo Arms Review
I just got a set of the PRx Profile Halo arms. Made in the USA, these jammer arms offer impeccable quality, are lightweight, and versatile. Priced at $749 plus shipping, they may just be the best budget jammer arms for three by three and two by three racks.
Unboxing and First Impressions
These jammer arms arrived in two boxes, and everything was well packed. Amazingly, there wasn't much assembly required. The small box contained the weight horns, handles, and hardware, while the large box had the two jammer arms pre-assembled.
Before I go any further, I must admit that my review of these arms may be slightly biased, as Gympin and I helped with some of the design elements. That said, this is still my first time seeing them in person and using them, so my reactions are genuine.
The arms use a C channel and pop pins to attach to the rack, which is arguably the easiest way to attach a jammer arm. The weight horns bolt on, and the handles screw in using beautiful knurled knobs. The entire setup took less than ten minutes.
Build Quality and Features
The Profile Halo arms are built from a two-by-three tube instead of a three-by-three tube, making them lightweight and cost-effective. This design allows them to be compatible with both two-by-three and three-by-three racks, which is rare for jammer arms. No one else really offers jammer arms for two-by-three racks, aside from cheaper imported ones.
One of the standout features of these arms is the included wall mount. When you're not using them, you can conveniently store the arms using this mount, which helps save space in your gym.
In terms of usability, I love that these arms are lightweight and can handle movements like a lateral raise, which is typically difficult with heavier jammer arms. Their compact size also means they take up less space when not in use. I also appreciate that the arms are almost ready to use right out of the box.
Design and Versatility
These handles are unlike anything I've seen before. They're super easy to attach and detach, and they can flip down, effectively extending the length of the arms, which is a really cool feature.
If you've seen my Ultimate Jammer Arm Showdown video, you know I made a list of key features for the perfect jammer arms: multiple starting positions, two pivot points for full articulation, side-to-side locking, front mounting weights, separate handles, and affordability. Let’s see how the Profile Halo arms stack up:
- Multiple Starting Positions: Check. These arms offer five holes, which is enough for a variety of starting positions.
- Two Pivot Points for Full Articulation: Check. The second pivot point allows for side-to-side movement and can be locked in place using the included pop pins.
- Front Mounting Weight Horns: Check.
- Separate Handles: Check. These are the first jammer arms I’ve seen that ship with separate weight horns and handles.
- Trolleys for the Arms: No. Trolleys would make it easier to move these arms, but the C channel and pop pin system make it incredibly easy to attach and remove the arms from the rack.
- Affordability: Check! At $749 plus shipping, these are incredibly well-priced compared to other options on the market.
Upgrades and Customization
While none of these upgrades are necessary, they can take these arms to the next level. I added the AbMat Plate Spacers to the weight horns to increase resistance at the bottom of the movement (use coupon code KAIZEN10 for 10% off). Another upgrade was the Rorman Strength Megalith Handles, which provide more natural movements during incline presses. I also bolted on my GymPin Taco Handles for more angle options during movements (use coupon code KAIZEN10 for 10% off).
The last frivolous upgrade I made was swapping out the standard pop pins for RigMates Mag Pins, which make pin adjustments faster and easier.
Final Thoughts
In conclusion, the PRx Profile Halo arms are a great option for anyone looking for lightweight, versatile, and affordable jammer arms. They come well-packaged, are easy to assemble, and are designed for both durability and functionality. If you’re in the market for jammer arms, I highly recommend giving these a try.
